Dr Comella’s Extraction Forceps
Dr Comella’s forceps are the only forceps specifically designed for the extraction of the root and fragments of horizontal impacted third molars. The extraction of impacted third molars deserves a special attention for its complexity. Traditional tools and especially the elevators may be very unsafe as they may cause a damage to adjacent nerves and tissues, in the worst case even to the lingual nerve. Dr. Comella’s forceps offer a secure and comfortable grip for an easy handling and healthy preservtion of the surrounding tissues.
After the crown parting using a bur, the tooth is divided in two parts: mesial and distal. The mesial part is accessible and easy to remove. The distal part can instead give some problems because, positioning in the bone, retentive root shape, patient comfort and timing. The root elevators and other tools currently used can be dangerous in case of accident damaging vases and nerves, particularly the close lingual nerve.
